In October 2024 eBay UK removed final value fees for private (consumer) sellers, following similar moves in Germany and the US. If you sell your own unwanted items as an individual you no longer pay a percentage fee when the item sells. You get 300 free listings a month (most categories), with listings beyond that costing £0.35 each. You can still pay for optional upgrades (bold title, subtitle, reserve price), and a roughly 3% international fee applies to some sales where the buyer is in another country. Remember that income from flipping goods or trading as a business must still be declared to HMRC, and from January 2024 eBay reports seller data to HMRC under digital platform reporting rules for sellers who make 30+ sales or €2,000+/year.
